Koko Crater Trail is at the foothills of Koko Head in the residential neighborhood of Hawaii Kai, a distant suburb of Honolulu on the southeast coast of Oahu.

Koko Crater Trail Directions from Waikiki
- Distance: Approximately 14 miles
- Driving Time: Around 25-30 minutes
- Directions:
- Start: Head southeast on Kalakaua Avenue.
- Turn Left: Take a left onto Kapahulu Avenue and continue straight to merge onto the H-1 Freeway.
- Merge: Merge onto H-1 Freeway East (use the left 2 lanes to take the H-1 E ramp to H-2 E/Kahului).
- Stay on H-1: Continue on the H-1 Freeway for about 6 miles.
- Take Exit 26B: Exit at 26B for Kalanianaole Highway toward Hawaii Kai.
- Merge onto Kalanianaole Highway: Follow Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) for approximately 6 miles.
- Turn Left: Turn left onto Lunalilo Home Road.
- Turn Right: Take a right onto Anapalau Street.
- Arrive: The parking lot will be on your left.

- Directions:
- Start: Head southeast on Rodgers Boulevard.
- Take the Ramp: Use the left lane to take the ramp to I-H1 E.
- Merge: Merge onto the H-1 Freeway East.
- Continue: Stay on H-1 Freeway for about 11 miles.
- Take Exit 26B: Exit at 26B for Kalanianaole Highway toward Hawaii Kai.
- Merge onto Kalanianaole Highway: Follow Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) for about 6 miles.
- Turn Left: Turn left onto Lunalilo Home Road.
- Turn Right: Take a right onto Anapalau Street.

- Distance: Approximately 20 miles
- Driving Time: Around 35-40 minutes
- Directions:
- Start: Head southwest on Kailua Road.
- Merge: Merge onto the Pali Highway (Route 61) toward Honolulu.
- Take the Exit: Use the left lane to take the Interstate H-1 E ramp to Koko Head.
- Continue: Merge onto the H-1 Freeway East and stay on it for about 7 miles.
- Take Exit 26B: Exit at 26B for Kalanianaole Highway toward Hawaii Kai.
- Merge onto Kalanianaole Highway: Follow Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) for about 6 miles.
