On rare occasions, the city of Honolulu may close the Koko Crater Trail for maintenance and repairs.
Recently, in June 2023, the Koko Crater Trail was closed for four days to build a new viewing platform at the Koko Crater summit.

When Does Koko Crater Trail Close?
Since the Koko Crater Trail is open 24×7, officially Koko Crater Trail has no closing time.
However, the Koko Head District Park is closed from 11 pm to 4 am every day, so if you plan to park in the Koko Head District Park parking lot, note the gates will close at 11 pm.
